As Montessori educators, we are continually observing the child—but how often do we pause to observe ourselves?

In this webinar, we will explore the powerful role of self-reflection in our relationships with children and in our effectiveness as educators. When a child struggles to learn, has difficulty concentrating, or repeatedly challenges classroom expectations, it can be easy to think, “This child can’t learn,” or “This child won’t behave.” Self-reflection invites us to ask a different and more constructive question: “What can I do to help this child overcome their difficulty?”

Through thoughtful reflection on our own attitudes, assumptions, communication, and responses, we can better understand how our actions may support—or unintentionally hinder—a child’s development. Looking inward does not mean blaming ourselves; rather, it is an opportunity to become more conscious, responsive, and effective educators.

Together, we will consider how developing the habit of self-reflection can deepen our understanding of the child, strengthen our relationships, and help us create an environment in which every child has the opportunity to succeed.
