My name is Lanh, a sister of The Company of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent De Paul. I graduated from the first AMI primary diploma course in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam (2019- 2020) under the training of Mrs. Lhamo Pemba. I am very grateful and proud to be a member of MTCNE and a Montessori Guide.
Recalling the day when I was invited by our congregation to attend the Montessori course, I was a bit surprised and worried because at that time I did not know anything about this method. But for the mission and the obedience, I could not have taken the course. It was a very big luck for me that I realized this is an amazing method, not because of the method itself but also because of our passionate trainer. It was Mrs. Lhamo who gave me the fire of passion and enthusiasm in supporting the children to develop their full potential as who they are. This method is not only helpful for children but also for me who is in the mission of taking care of the young generations’ education of the country.
Being a Montessori Guide requires me to change myself, I become easier to accept the children as who they are. I observe their growth and try to create the best environment with what we have so that the children can have a great childhood, learn through playing, playing but learning every day, nurture good habits and manners.
After graduation, I actually not yet had a chance to be a guide in a Montessori environment, but I always share great points and important points of Montessori philosophy for other sisters in our house and teachers in our school and applied them as much as possible in our traditional school. Then there is another wave of Covid-19 in Vietnam… I was assigned to Can Tho, a province in Mekong delta. With all enthusiasm and passion to make this method present in Can Tho, fortunately, I was given a room to create and run a Montessori class and we are going to start this year. I am very happy because my wish is fulfilled, but also very worried because the fund for fixing the room and preparing materials is not an easy matter. However, I always have lots of hope since there must be many people who will support me to fulfill these good wishes.
