An AMI Refresher Course Certificate will be awarded to attendees who provide an AMI Diploma credential.

Spoken Language and Material Making

Assistants to Infancy (Birth to 3 yrs) Full-Day Workshop

Schedule:

In this workshop, we will explore the extraordinary means by which the young child acquires language skills and how we best foster this in the home and school setting. You will learn how to create a series of language materials for the toddler environment. Leave with one full language set to bring back to your community or home environment.

The Joy of Reading

Refresher Course: Primary (3-6 yrs)

Are you struggling to guide the reading process with your children? This refresher course will focus on the materials for reading and how they lead the child to what Montessori called “total reading”. We will go beyond basic decoding and highlight how each of the areas of reading – mechanics of reading, classified reading and interpretive reading, come together to engage children and foster a love of reading.

Outcomes for the Refresher Course will include:

• A deepened appreciation of the Montessori approach to reading
• Understanding of the scope and sequence for each of the areas of language
• How to link observation to lesson planning to guide development
• Implementation of strategies in your classroom
• Resources to use in your daily practice
