Canvas Access for MTCNE Program Participants

The Montessori Training Center Northeast (MTCNE) uses Canvas, an online Learning Management System (LMS), to share course materials, assignments, resources, and program communications.

Your Canvas account is created for you by MTCNE when you register for a program that uses Canvas.

All MTCNE Canvas accounts are accessed through the RESC Alliance Canvas login page: 🔗 https://rescalliance.instructure.com/login/canvas

Follow the steps below to access your account.

✅ Overview: How Your Account Is Created

👤 You do not need to create a Canvas account.

When you register for an MTCNE program supported by Canvas:

• 🧾 You enroll/participate in an MTCNE program that uses online course materials
• 🛠️ MTCNE creates your Canvas account using your first name, last name, and email address
• 📚 MTCNE enrolls you in the correct Canvas course
• 🔒 MTCNE does not issue temporary passwords (you will set your own password)

📩 Step 1: Watch for the Canvas Email

After MTCNE enrolls you in your course, you will receive an automated email from Instructure Canvas inviting you to participate in a course at RESC Alliance.

📌 Tip: If you do not see the email, please check your spam or junk folder.

🚀 Step 2: Click “Get Started”

In the Canvas invitation email, select the “Get Started” button.

You will be taken to a Canvas screen that says:

“Welcome Aboard.”

🔐 Step 3: Create Your Canvas Account

Most participants will see an option to create their account.

You may see two buttons:

• I already have a Canvas account
• Create my account

Please select:

✅ Create my account

You will then:

1. Enter a password of your choice
2. Complete the registration process

Once complete, your Canvas account will be activated and you will have access to your course.

⚠️ If Canvas Recognizes an Account from Another Institution

If you have previously used Canvas at another school with the same email address, Canvas may indicate that an account already exists.

When prompted, do not connect to the other institution’s account.

Instead:

1. Select “No” if Canvas asks whether you already have an account for this course
2. Continue with the process to create your account for the RESC Alliance system
3. Enter a password of your choice and complete registration

This ensures your account is created within the MTCNE / RESC Alliance Canvas system, which is required to access your course.

We recommend bookmarking this page for easy access.

Log in using:

• Username: your email address
• Password: the password you created

🔖 Bookmark the RESC Alliance login page.
📧 Use the same email address you provided to MTCNE.
🚫 Do not attempt to access your course through another school’s Canvas site.
