University Partnership
MTCNE’s unique partnership with the University of Hartford and the Center for Montessori Studies stands at the core of our mission to deepen both access and rigor in Montessori teacher education. As a founding partner, MTCNE helped shape one of the nation’s first university-based centers dedicated to bridging traditional higher education and authentic Montessori pedagogy.
Through this collaboration, students benefit from integrated undergraduate and graduate pathways that align AMI diploma training with academic coursework toward degrees in Education. This model allows teacher candidates to deepen pedagogical understanding, engage in research, and earn credit while completing internationally recognized Montessori credentials. Students who complete a Montessori Teacher Credential through another training center can have it evaluated for transferable undergraduate/graduate credit toward a University of Hartford program.
In partnership, MTCNE and the University of Hartford continue to strengthen the academic foundations of Montessori education—advancing scholarship, practitioner research, and professional leadership development across the field.
